The Commemorative Visits Programme offers innovative and exciting learning opportunities for young people.
The programme includes a series of educational visits for UK schools and youth groups to key historical destinations related to the Second World War. It also provides a range of case studies, practical guidance and learning materials to help teachers and youth group leaders plan their own commemorative visits and related classroom activities.
The programme will explore themes such as commonwealth, empire, global citizenship, remembrance, reconciliation, human rights, memory and commemoration. It provides young people with the opportunity to actively commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of the end of the Second World War, and to reflect on the nature of remembrance and what it will mean for future generations.
